Albert's Tomb rock pillar jump @ Tasmania
Albert's Tomb rock pillar jump @ Tasmania

Parkour athlete Sam Carter usually hones his high flying skills on manmade structures in the urban environments of Melbourne, Australia but occasionally he ventures into nature for a challenge.

Check out Sam as puts everything on the line jumping to and fro a rock tower known as Albert’s Tomb on Mount Wellington in Tasmania. The 10-meter pillar of dolerite rock is popular with climbers looking for a unique challenge but Sam took an alternate route to the top of the column. Climbers have been jumping to Albert’s Tomb since the 1970’s but they were roped and a fall would have been consequential but likely not fatal.

One false move and its game over in a situation like this.

Here’s a climbing video exploring the 5 Pillars of Tasmania including Totem Pole, Moai, Pole Dancer, Pole Axed, and of course Albert’s Tomb. Incredible place to climb, we prefer you use ropes.
