Eden, Utah — Two of Powder Mountain’s chairlift projects are moving steadily.

Yesterday, Powder Mountain provided a construction update on the replacements of the Paradise and Timberline.

The old Timberline chairlift is being replaced by a new SkyTrac fixed-grip quad. SkyTrac has worked quickly on the new Timberline chairlift. They’ve installed the top terminal and lift towers. Next up is installing the bottom terminal. In terms of the color of the lift towers… no comment.

The old Paradise fixed-grip quad is being replaced by a detachable high-speed quad chairlift. Doppelmayr excavated the sites for the future towers and terminals, poured the lift tower foundations, and assembled the top terminal. This rocky lift line made for some challenges, but they got through it. Their next steps on Paradise are to build the bottom terminal and fly in the new lift towers and cross-arms.

While people are excited about these two projects, some are concerned about the status of the new Lightning Ridge and Raintree chairlifts. Powder Mountain has yet to give an official update on its social media accounts.

I did reach out to a spokesperson at Powder Mountain for comment. He told me they will have more updates in the coming months and anticipate opening those lifts for the 2024-25 season. A key thing to note was that the county just approved these projects in late June, so they started later than Paradise and Timberline.
