Alaska — Is drinking glacier water a Ludacris thing to do? People are debating after the rapper drank some from an Alaskan glacier.
Ludacris recently visited Alaska to perform at the Alaska State Fair. While there, he did a helicopter tour to see an unspecified location with glaciers. One of the items on Ludacris’s bucket list, which he refers to as a “fuck it list,” is to visit a glacier and drink from it.
In the video below, he drinks the water and is blown away by its taste.
Regarding whether it’s safe to drink water, it sounds like it’s probably best not to. Michael Loso, who conducted a 2012 study titled “Glacial Transport of Human Waste and Survival of Fecal Bacteria,” discovered that fecal matter and bacteria are buried in glaciers. In addition, the National Park Service recommends against drinking water that hasn’t been filtered or purified. However, if you treat it and then wait the appropriate amount of time, it would then be safe to drink.
Let’s hope that Luda’s stomach doesn’t get ran the fuck over by bacteria. Based on the video above, it seems like he’ll be ok.
