UNITED STATES – It’s a good time to start thinking about where you want to take your big ski/snowboard trip this winter. There are the classics, of course. The big name resorts like Vail or Aspen, or the incredible independent ski mountain road trips that show you the smaller, more spirited side of the sport. But if you’re looking for a closer to traditional experience, without spending a ton of money, looking into America’s more traditional affordable resorts might be the way. YouTube channel mountainsight ranked 7 of their best affordable ski resorts in the United States.
“Have you ever dreamed of carving down the slopes without breaking the bank? Well, you’re in luck! In today’s video, we’re going to explore some amazing ski resorts across the U.S. where you can enjoy the thrill of skiing without emptying your wallet. From the stunning mountains in Colorado to the picturesque peaks of Arizona, we’ve scouted out six well-sized ski areas where a daily lift pass costs less than $100.“
As always, this list is going to be subjective. There are many resorts that I would prefer to see on this list, and a few that I would probably leave off (there could definitely be more independent mountains, and the lack of an East Coast resort is… offensive). But this is their list, and it’s as follows:
- Winter Park, CO
- Schweitzer Mountain Resort, ID
- Whitefish Mountain Resort, MT
- Ski Apache, NM
- Snowbowl, AZ
- Sunlight Mountain, CO
- Bridger Bowl, MT
