Bartlett, New Hampshire — While summer activities aren’t happening at Attitash for the third straight summer, the New Hampshire ski resort has had a busy offseason. Attitash has been working on various projects this summer and will bring back a fan-favorite trail next winter.

Yesterday, Senior Mountain Operations Manager Deidre Riley gave an update on Attitash’s offseason projects.

The major addition for next winter is the return of the Hunky Dory trail. This was closed over a decade ago to allow for the addition of the mountain coaster. However, this coaster hasn’t operated for several years, so closing and removing it was a wise move.

This summer, they removed the mountain coaster to bring Hunky Dory back into the trail network. They hope to reopen the trail during the 2024-25 season, but they’ll need natural snowfall for ski patrol to drop the ropes.

Lift improvements have also been a priority this offseason. The Abenaki chairlift’s haul rope has been replaced, meaning it’ll be a smoother ride in the coming years. The lift terminals of Flying Bear and Flying Yankee have been repainted to the signature Attitash blue.

New snowmaking equipment is being installed on the Tightrope trail, a black diamond run on the upper portion of Attitash Peak. This offseason, the goal has been to reconnect Tightrope to the snowmaking network.

New carpets and fresh paint are being added to their base lodges, giving these buildings a refresh.

Before the ski season, Oktoberfest will return to Attitash. On October 12th, there will be music from the Eastern Sound Orchestra, German food, and a Biergarten. Click here for more information about the event.
