MOUNT HOOD, Oregon – Well, it’s official. The last outdoor lift-access ski resort in the United States is capping off the 2023/24 season. The last day to ski and snowboard on Timberline Lodge’s Palmer Snowfield will be Sunday, August 18, putting an end to the longest outdoor ski season in North America.

Timberline Lodge will continue to operate daily from 8am – 2pm, right up until the closing bell on Sunday. While several lanes are typically reserved for summer camps and training, all lanes are now fully opened to public skiers and snowboarders. Those hoping to take advantage of the final few days can do so for as low as $105 a day.

Timberline Lodge kicked off this season on December 2, making this season nearly 260 days long. The only area to offer a longer season to skiers and snowboarders in the United States is Big SNOW American Dream, an indoor ski area located in New Jersey.

While this past season may be coming to a close, the upcoming season is getting much, much closer. We are now within three months of seeing the first Vail owned resorts start spinning their lifts, and depending on conditions, we could see some open areas even sooner.
