Reno, Nevada — On the road to various Nevada ski resorts sits an abandoned ski hill that has been closed and abandoned for decades.

Situated on the Mt. Rose Highway, Tannenbaum Ski Area featured two lifts and a single trail. The ski hill catered to the locals of Washoe County. Tannenbaum had a ski school, making it a great place to learn how to shred. It closed in the 1980s. YouTuber Low Watts explored the ski area’s remnants in a recent video. He discovered that some of the decrepit buildings are still standing.

Information on this place online is pretty minimal, but Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe’s website does have an advertisement for the ski area’s grand opening.
