Summer skijoring with grass skis.
Summer skijoring with grass skis.

If you don’t have easy access to snow for skiing, you find snow for skiing. And if there’s no snow to find, you find skis that you can use in the summer. Equestrian Pontus Hugosson got his hands on some grass skis and, since there don’t appear to be many major hills near him (and because he already spends his life around horses), he did some summer skijoring.

I’m already not the most comfortable with the idea of skiing behind a horse (I love seeing it, I just don’t want to do it). Skiing behind a horse on grass, where a nice fall might hurt quite a lot more, I’ll let the experienced equestrians do that. Still very cool to see, though.
