Big Sky, Montana — In 2025, Big Sky’s newest hotel will make its debut.
Forbes reports that the One&Only Moonlight Basin Hotel is on track to open next year. This property will include 73 rooms/suites in the main modern lodge, 19 private villas, a ski base lodge, a new gondola that connects to Big Sky, and a spa. For dining, they’ll have six restaurant and bar options. During the offseason, guests can partake in fishing, hiking, fly fishing, and golf. Another advantage of One&Only’s location is its proximity to Yellowstone National Park. This will be the luxury hotel brand’s first alpine property and its first location in the United States.
Philippe Zuber, the CEO of Kerzner International, which owns One&Only, described to Forbes what will make this property special:
“One&Only Moonlight Basin marks two firsts for the brand. It’s the first alpine resort as well as the first in the US. In considering new properties and portfolio expansion, One&Only seeks out the world’s most unique, awe-inspiring surroundings in which to create exceptional one-offs. Situated on the northwest side of Montana’s iconic Lone Mountain and bordered by protected land in Yellowstone National Park, the 8,000 acres of Moonlight Basin are idyllically located in one of the region’s – and country’s – most scenic and serene landscapes, making it a natural addition to the portfolio as One&Only continues to evolve in the world’s most sought-after destinations.”
The development will also include 62 private residences. Some of the residences have been completed, and the owners can now move into them. Others are under construction and still for sale. Price points range from $8,800,000 to $12,650,000. Finally, a ski home that’s in my price range!
