Cyclist Julien Bernard fined for kissing wife during Tour de France.

French cyclist Julien Bernard got hit with a fine by the Tour de France governing authority for a mid-race smooch during a time trial in Burgundy. Bernards wife was waiting for him at the top of a hill climb with their baby boy dressed in a replica race kit in her arms when the kiss went down. The International Cycling Union (UCI) has issued a fine of $223 calling the kiss “unseemly or inappropriate behavior during the race and damage to the image of the sport.” Bernard responded to the UCI on social media, apologizing for “having damaged the image of sport.” Bernard lives just 30 minutes away from the spot where the infraction took place and he was thinks the fine was totally worth it as he made a everlasting memory on his home turf and he will “relive this moment everyday.” Love it.

“It was really incredible. My wife has been organizing this with some friends for a few weeks now and she did a really, really good job. On a time trial, you have time to enjoy yourself. It’s these moments that keep me going and cycling.” -Julien Bernard
