VALLE NEVADO, Chile – Valle Nevado opened three weeks early this season, starting operations of June 7 with the help of some remarkable early snowfall. That early opening was clearly the right choice, as the Chilean ski resort got slammed with 6 feet of snow over the past seven days alone.
The resort’s season total is now at 130 inches, just 110 inches away from their typical annual snowfall of 240″ and the season just started. The resort is set to stay open daily until October 6, so there’s plenty of time for the mountain to crush that annual average.
Ikon Pass, Power Pass and Mountain Collective season pass holders can take advantage of all the epic snow that Valle Nevado has to offer, with lifts running from 9 am until 5 pm every day. As of June 17, 10 of the resort’s 12 lifts are running (according to their website), and there are plenty of trails and areas to explore.
Valle Nevado has a base elevation of 9,925 feet with 2,400 skiable acres, three ski-in/ski-out hotels, and a great culinary scene. Plus, with interconnected tickets to La Parva Ski Resort, skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of 7,000 total acres.
