SAWATCH RANGE, Colorado – A solo female hiker issued a warning to other women hoping to hike in Colorado after a creepy experience with a male hiker on La Plata Peak. The woman shared her experience to the Colorado 14ers Facebook page, explaining the incident in detail.

According to her post, the woman was descending La Plata Peak when she ran into a guy hiking up the trail just around a half mile from the car. The man had no water, was walking in beach flip flops, and was “starting” the hike at around 1 P.M. in the afternoon, right as storms were about to begin rolling in.

The guy did stop and was asking questions about the hike, but kind of weird and off topic questions . But i found it weird he has zero water and had beach FLIP FLOPS on….

After cutting the conversation, the woman continued walking down the trail, and the man followed close behind, within what she calls “an arms length or so.” The man eventually parted ways with the woman after she stopped to take pictures of the river, but she spotted him again, “washing off” in just his underwear facing the trail.

“Just to be on the lookout. Weird hiking a 14er in beach flip flops, no water, starting when a storm was rolling in, and changed his direction as i walked in front of him back to the car. Just an FYI”
