SNOWBIRD, Utah – If there’s one way to boost your confidence before hitting some major air, it’s knowing that the people who would typically be called to rescue you are just waiting underneath! Or maybe that would diminish my confidence… I don’t know.
Ben Oveson, who shared the video, was clearly on edge about the idea of hitting Little Kong Cliff at Snowbird, especially given that he was more or less alone in the woods. Fortunately a ski patroller shows up, asking Oveson if he would mind an audience.
That little support was all Oveson needed to send the cliff. Unfortunately he couldn’t quite stick the landing, but he was very grateful to the patroller at the end. Also the patroller is super chill and supportive, which is what we love to see out of resort staff. They really are the heroes of the ski resort.
“First time checking out this 10-15’er at Snowbird. I was alone and it was late in the day. So I was thinking about not hitting this, but then a ski patroller showed up! Took all my doubts away and I sent it with professional supervision. Super glad he showed up and was willing to stay and spot me.“
