Lac-Beauport, Quebec- One of Quebec’s most important feeder hills has a new owner.

Radio Canada reports that La Relais in Queebc was recently sold to four Quebec businessmen. Nicolas Racine, Henrick Simard, Francis Moreau, and Nicolas Boucher are the four businessmen. Nicolas Racine was the former executive vice president and managing director at Le Massif and is currently the CEO of Festival d’été de Québec. Henrick Simard works as a ski coach and is a corporate attorney at Fasken. According to Ski Area Management, the acquisition was finalized on May 1st for an unspecified price point.

Henrick Simard said the following about his group’s acquisition of La Relais:

“It’s a dream that I’ve had since I was very young. I’m a skier, I was born in Lac-Beauport, I grew up there, so it’s a source of immense pride…The Beaulieus have always invested in a sustained and continuous manner in the development of infrastructure. Their equipment is state-of-the-art and the maintenance is impeccable. This is what we are going to focus on.

The Beaulieu family has owned the ski resort since 1987 and has built an impressive legacy for the mountain. The modern ski resort has a high-speed six-pack and quad chairlift and has become a feeder hill for bigger mountains in the province. The mountain is less than a twenty-minute drive away from Quebec City.

Sophie Beaulieu, who was part of the former ownership group, issued the following statement as part of the announcement:

“[The new owners] share our concern to deliver quality services in a [family-friendly] environment. After all these years, we have fulfilled the vision of our father and our vision. It was important for us to ensure a smooth and respectful transition while preserving the continuity of the deployment of our vision for Le Relais. Our family is convinced that Le Relais passes [to] good hands.”
