Stio, a Wyoming-based mountain lifestyle brand, has proudly announced Trevor Kennison as their new brand ambassador. Kennison, a trailblazing professional sit skier, first gained recognition in 2019 by being the first to drop into Jackson Hole’s Corbet’s Couloir. Paralyzed from a snowboarding accident, his achievements include several sit skiing firsts and starring in the Netflix film “Full Circle.” His role will involve contributing to Stio’s mission through storytelling and product development.
Stio Welcomes Professional Sit Skier, Trevor Kennison, to Ambassador Team
Kennison Partners with Jackson Hole Based Brand, Deepening His Connection to the Tetons and the Mountains that Changed His Life Forever
JACKSON, Wyo. (April 11, 2024) – Stio, the mountain lifestyle brand headquartered in
Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is proud to announce Trevor Kennison as the newest member of its brand ambassador team. A professional sit skier and innovator of the sport, Kennison truly embodies the spirit of Stio, showing us how to pursue big dreams and sharing in the passion for the mountain life. Paralyzed from the waist down after a snowboarding accident in the Colorado backcountry, Kennison first emerged on the scene in 2019 when he became the first sit skier to drop into Jackson Hole’s legendary Corbet’s Couloir, earning himself the Rider’s Choice Award of the famed Kings and Queens of Corbet’s Competition. After making his debut on the world’s stage in Jackson, Kennison’s success propelled him into a new chapter in his life, trailblazing and breaking down barriers within the realm of adaptive sports. He went on to earn many “first time” achievements in the sit ski arena, including first sit skier to land a double backflip and first to hit the X-Games big air jump.
In his latest project, Kennison was featured in the award-winning Netflix film “Full Circle,” which captures his journey towards post traumatic growth while drawing on the parallels between his life and that of Barry Corbet, the namesake of Corbet’s Couloir. When Trevor is not making waves within the ski community or training for his next big objective, he enjoys creating content and public speaking to inspire individuals in their daily life. “Trevor is an amazing spirit. His energy and passion for the mountains and life in general are inspiring and infectious,” said Liz Barrett, brand director at Stio. “We’re excited to support Trevor in pushing the boundaries within adaptive skiing and further solidify his connection with the Tetons through our partnership.” Kennison joins the Stio ambassador team alongside a group of athletes, adventurers, mountain guides, and creatives who share out the brand’s mission to inspire connection with nature. As an ambassador, Kennison will play an integral role in carrying out the brand’s storytelling through photo, video and editorial projects, along with product testing and providing feedback throughout the product development stages.
“I am thrilled to become a part of the Stio family! It feels incredibly fitting as my career began in Jackson Hole, taking the plunge into Corbet’s Couloir. With Stio’s roots tracing back to Jackson for over a decade, this opportunity feels like the perfect full circle. I want to express my gratitude for the brand’s belief in me, and I am eagerly looking forward to the magic we will create together. Let’s go baby!!”
