It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian is a skier. Expert? No. But she’s shared multiple clips proving that she’s at least competent with parallel turns on the slopes.
An Instagram post from her recent trip to Aspen has stirred up a bit of controversy, though. Her outfit on the slopes was certainly unique, featuring black, leather ski bibs and jacket from Victoria Beckham and a pair of Anon M2 MFI goggles. Unfortunately, the outfit failed to include a helmet, spurring some to mention the absence in the comments.
“Stunning but you couldn’t find a helmet that matched the fit?” “Kimberly you simply must wear a helmet!” “Um babe, put on a helmet please“
According to PEOPLE, though, Kim does regularly wear a helmet while skiing. In this case, a source noted that she probably took it off for the photo shoot. Khloe, on the other hand, is shown wearing a full blown motorcycle helmet with bluetooth speaker cat ears on the top.
I do think we should be pushing celebrities to wear helmets on the mountain. There’s very little reason to not wear one, and they seriously reduce the risk of a head injury. The more we show that skiing without a helmet isn’t the way to go, the better. Not sure if Kim really deserves the comments on this one, though. Not much evidence that she was actually riding without one on this trip.
Also, Khloe Kardashian, if the bluetooth speaker ears somehow catch on, I’m going to be so pissed. The last thing we need on the mountains is more people convinced that it’s cool to blast music on a speaker. Nobody wants to hear your crummy tunes.
