Cool little ski industry tidbit from the Stevens Pass Blog. They were up against it after a component on their Double Diamond/Southern Cross chairlift broke and were calling around trying to source a replacement when they got a response from Northstar in Tahoe saying they had it. Instead of waiting for it to get shipped, Vince, the Director of Mountain Operations at Stevens Pass, caught a flight to Reno to pick it up in person. Pretty cool story. Nice one Vince:

Hi everyone,

We needed a motor component to fix Double Diamond/Southern Cross, and we made several calls to neighboring and enterprise resorts and the manufacturer to see who had one and how quickly we could get it. We got lucky when our partners at Northstar California called back to let us know they had the part we needed. We didn’t want to wait for it to be shipped, so Vince caught a flight out last night and returned on the first flight back from Reno this morning. Vince was back at Stevens Pass this morning to deliver the motor component to our lift maintenance team. They got to work quickly, and we are excited to share that Double Diamond/Southern Cross is now open.

Thank you, Vince, for supporting the team and being so dedicated to this community.

Thanks,

Ellen

Coincidently, today is National Vincent Day and Stevens Pass celebrated!
