Is there anything better than ending a nice summer day with a cold happy hour drink? Yes there is, and it’s having that drink on top of a mountain! Starting today, Winter Park is bringing back their Ikonic (pun/misspelling intended) Mountaintop Happy Hour. Every Friday and Saturday this summer, you can enjoy a delicious drink at the Sunspot Lodge.
Not sure how to reach this lodge at 10,700 ft? If you are looking to stretch the legs, you can hike up one of the designated trails from the base of Winter Park. If you want a less intense adventure, Winter Park offers scenic gondola rides. Dogs are welcome on the gondola and at happy hour (just like my buddy Loki in the photo). Riding the gondola is free for Ikon Base Pass, Ikon Base Pass Plus, and Ikon Pass holders. If you don’t have an Ikon pass, Winter Park scenic gondola passes on their website.
