In collaboration with Vail Resorts, the owner of Park City Mountain, Canyons Village has sealed the deal on an EPIC development agreement to construct a cutting-edge 10-person gondola. The board of trustees of the Canyons Village Management Association (CVMA) has given the green light, propelling the mountain experience to new heights.
The new lift will be called the Sunrise Gondola and is a futuristic addition that will replace the existing Sunrise Lift near the Pendry Hotel. This game-changing gondola will offer unrivaled convenience, shuttling skiers and riders up to the Red Pine Lodge, a breathtaking ascent of over 1,000 vertical feet near the Saddleback and High Meadow lifts.
Adding to the Canyons Village’s roster of must-ride lifts, the Sunrise Gondola will be the third access point from the base, joining the ranks of the Red Pine Gondola and the Orange Bubble Express. This development is a direct response to the frustratingly long wait times experienced on peak days at Canyons due to limited mountain access options.
With a jaw-dropping estimated cost of $27 million, this ambitious project will see the CVMA contributing slightly over $9 million, while Vail Resorts steps up to cover the remaining funds.
