Arguably the biggest offseason project of any ski resort in North America is Pandora’s expansion over at Aspen Mountain in Colorado.

This 153-acre expansion off the summit of Ajax will add new intermediate and advanced terrain to what is arguably America’s most famous ski resort. The expansion will also include new glade skiing, and the extension of Walsh’s, Kristi, and Hyrup’s runs.

Yesterday, Aspen Snowmass released a video update on the work being done on the expansion. Last summer, access roads were built and tree clearing commenced. The video, which is footage from last summer, shows a helicopter clearing trees from the future trails and lift line.

Work is well underway during this offseason on the Pandora’s project. It does say on Aspen’s website that chairlift construction began on June 1st, so they’re clearly in the thick of it. The expansion is expected to open during the 2023-24 season.

The cool helicopter footage from Aspen Snowmass is down below.

Correction 6/16: The original version of this article stated that the video footage is from this year. It’s actually from the work done over at Pandora’s last offseason.
