Here’s your chance to own a piece of Oregon skiing history. Mt. Bachelor announced this week that they will be selling the chairs from the Skyliner Express. It will be replaced by a high-speed six-pack chairlift, which is being supplied by Doppelmayr.
The old chairs are being sold, with the winners being chosen via a lottery. If you win, purchasing the chair will cost $500. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Play Forever Fund, which is distributing the proceeds to Vamonos Outside. They are “a local nonprofit dedicated to connecting, engaging, and inspiring Latinx families and community members into the outdoors.” Vamonos Outside will use the money raised to purchase a van, allowing more Latinx families in Central Oregon to experience skiing at Mt. Bachelor.
You can enter for a chance to win one of the fifty chairs for sale here. You’ll have to make a form submission before June 9th at 4 pm, with the winners being announced the next day. If you win, you’ll have to travel to Mt. Bachelor with a large vehicle to pick it up. With dimensions of 7′ x 2.5′ x 5′, and a weight of approximately 200 pounds, Mt. Bachelor recommends bringing at least two people to help carry it your vehicle.
