Every hardcore skier and snowboarder I’ve ever met has talked about wanting to take a trip to Japan. I’m not kidding. Either they’ve done it and want to go back, or they’ve never made it out there but have been wanting to since they first saw a photo of the legendary deep stuff. So, if you’re like every other hardcore skier or snowboarder and you’re thinking of putting a trip together for next season or you just generally want to go someday, let Japan Ski Tours be a push in the right direction.

Japan Ski Tours offers a multitude of different pre-planned trips, with options focused on different ski passes, storm chasing, private guiding, and cat skiing. Two options focus specifically on the Indy Pass, an 8-day and a 10-day, both taking place in Japan’s Tohoku Region. The bookings for both include ski passes (discounted rates for those with Indy Passes, of course), transportation to each of the five different mountains, accommodation, and two meals per day. The company also offers packages for Epic Pass holders, with options for 5-7 nights.

The Storm Chaser trips occur in the Tohoku Region and the Hokkaido Region. The eight-day Tohoku trip includes six days of skiing or riding. Some of those days may include some touring, one will include a half-day of cat skiing, and two include some tram-accessed backcountry rides  at the Hakkoda Ropeway. The seven-day Hokkaido trip is a bit more resort focused, hitting six different resorts for six days of off-piste powder skiing.

Those looking for a bit more ease of transportation up the hill can look into one of Japan Ski Tours’ CAT skiing trips, and those looking for a bit more of an individual trip could consider a private touring trip in the Tohoku region.

Honestly, I’m shocked by the prices on some of these trips. The 8 Day Tohoku Indy Trip, for example, is just $1,990 for those with an Indy Pass that book before August 31. Is that a good chunk of money? Sure, but it’s certainly not a lot for the remarkable skiing and accommodation provided through the trip. Early Bird Discounts are active until August 31, so if you’re interested, you should book soon! I’d certainly be just a few clicks away from booking one of these right now if I could be!
