29-year-old skier fell 130ft+ to his death from a cable car at Les Deux Alpes in France on April 1st.

The Connexion  reports the man was drunk and was throwing himself against the plexiglass wall of the Jandri Express before it shattered and he plummeted to the slopes below.

The incident was filmed by his friend, who was also reportedly drunk, and the footage will be used in the investigation.

“It’s terrible. It’s the first time an accident like this has happened in the station. That shouldn’t happen in normal use. Everything was solid, the door did not break. And even the Plexiglas [of the door] stayed in the frames. It was in the centre that it broke. All the safety procedures of the cabin worked.” –Fabrice Boutet, director of SATA (managing company of the resort’s ski lifts

A full investigation will be conducted. We will be sure to update when more information becomes available.images from AlphaOmega Youtube
