Our best wishes are going out to the 9-year-old boy who was hospitalized Wednesday after getting buried by roof avalanche in Alta.

The Gephard Daily reports an Alta Town Marshal’s Office Deputy arrived within two minutes of the slide and began a search using an avalanche probe. The boy was eventually located and extracted from the snow. At the time, he was in a semi-conscious.

The boy was transported by ambulance to a Life Flight Helicopter at an Alta Ski Area Landing zone and flown to Primary Children’s Hospital. According to a press release by the Alta Marshal’s Office, the boy is in an improved and stable condition.
