It’s Been 3 Years Since A Tweet About A Boulder Broke The Internet

Whoever thought a Tweet about a boulder would be one of the most popular of the entire year?

The San Miguel County (Colorado) Sheriff’s Office broke the internet on January 28th, 2020 when their social media manager Tweeted a message about a boulder that was blocking a busy roadway.

The original Tweet was deleted, but not before it was screenshotted and meme’d by thousands across the internet.

Here’s a screenshot of the original, see if you can spot the error…

It should be pretty easy. 😂

“Large boulder the size of a small boulder is completely blocking east-bound lane Highway 145 mm78 at Silverpick Rd. Please use caution and watch for emergency vehicles in the area.”

‘Large boulder the size of a small boulder’ will never get old. The account most likely meant to say the size of a small vehicle’, but we like it better the incorrect way.

We will forever think of this Tweet every time we see or hear about a boulder blocking a roadway.

Please celebrate this historic Tweet with us every January 28th.
