HGTV’s 2023 Dream Home is once again intended for skiers and outdoorsy people. The new home build is located in Morrison, Colorado, which is home to the famous Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater. This means that it’s conveniently located near I-70 for those who want to make ski and hiking trips, along with being a thirty-five-minute drive from Downtown Denver. This follows their 2022 Dream Home Sweepstakes, which was located in Warren, Vermont.
The home features three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The home gives homage to Dinosaurs, as many fossils were discovered around Morrison. The outside spaces feature a fire pit area, a back terrace with several seating arrangements, an outdoor kitchen, a waterfall, a large deck with more seating options, and stunning views.
Additionally, the prize package includes a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and $100,000 from Ally, making it a total prize package of $2.7 million.
As I mentioned last year, it’s worthwhile to point out that the flaw of winning the home is the large property taxes that come with it. A 2019 article from CNBC pointed out that most winners don’t end up keeping their house for more than a year due to excessive taxes. For the 2019 prize of $2.3 million, the projected amount of federal and state taxes would be over $900,000. An alternative option is winning a cash prize, which also comes with a tax hit, albeit to a less extent.
With all that being said, you can enter the sweepstakes here.
