With New Year’s Eve fast approaching and pyrotechnic professionals world round staging celebratory displays, it’s a fine time remember that a mountain town holds the the record for the largest  aerial firework ever detonated. Steamboat set off the 2,797lbs behemoth mortar at Howelsen Hill back in 2020 during their annual Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival.
