We’re sad to share the heartbreaking news that Luna, one of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s Avalanche Rescue Dogs has passed away.

“It is with great sadness that we report the untimely loss of JHSP K-9 Luna due to a medical emergency. She will be sorely missed by the JHSP family.
Luna’s remarkable work ethic and beloved personality greatly benefitted our local avalanche and snow safety community, as she had a powerful nose and was always eager to work.
Training and becoming a working team with a dog like Luna forever impacts a handler and with her loss, our hearts go out to her family. RIP Luna, now go run… “free dog”.
