Blustery Winds Swing Lake Tahoe Chairlift (Watch)

A major winter storm dumped more than 3 FEET of snow across Lake Tahoe (California/Nevada) this past weekend.

Skiers and snowboarders are rejoicing, but many had to wait to access their favorite terrain due to blustery winds.

The video below shows heavy winds berating a chairlift at Heavenly on Saturday, December 10th.

The caption simply reads: “A reminder that wind hold is always for your safety”

Please show this video to anybody who gets angry at ski resorts for closing chairlifts for wind. They might learn a thing or two.

The wind didn’t just hit Heavenly on the southern end of Lake Tahoe.

Our friends at Palisades Tahoe recorded near-Hurricane-strength winds on Saturday, December 10th.

Sustained winds hovered around 60mph while gusts topped out over 100mph:

Please remember that wind holds are for your safety!!!!!
