The Colorado Department of Transportation is reporting that an avalanche closed both directions of Loveland Pass early this morning.

The closure occurred between Loveland Ski Area and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area at around 2:35 AM this morning. The pass reopened at 6:32 AM.

The department did not say if any vehicles were caught in the slide, but no injuries have been reported at this time.

There is currently an ‘avalanche watch‘ issue by NOAA ahead of a storm system that could bring up to 2 feet of snow to the Rocky Mountains.
