A Texas woman is sharing the video below in hopes that others will learn from her mistake.

Rebecca Clark was hiking through Caprock Canyons State Park in northern Texas when a bison  suddenly turns and charges at her as she’s attempting to pass it. She claims that she was gored in the incident.

Watch and read her description below:

Solo hiking at Caprock Canyons State Park & Trailway in Texas. I was charged and gored by a bison because I was to CLOSE to be passing them on a trailway They are beautiful creatures protected by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) and are a part of the Texas State Bison Restoration Project where the park has restored the historic Charles Goodnight Bison herd (The Official Texas State Bison Herd) to a portion of its former range in the park. I am posting to support safety while enjoying Texas State Parks #TPWD #bisonetiquette101 #hikingsafety #llbean #chaos #rei

It’s refreshing to see an ignorant tourist getting charged by a bison that is humble and has the ability to recognize their mistake.

Bison are wild animals and should be given more than 25 yards of space no matter where you’re traveling. Don’t end up like her. Don’t get gored by a bison because you didn’t give them appropriate space.
