Climbers will release loose rocks from the mountainside when they feel it could pose a hazard in the future. This is known as rock trundling.

Rock trundling is inherently dangerous, and we do not recommend that anybody does it. Leave it to the experts. With that being said, watching a video of a giant rock exploding as it cascades down a mountain is oddly satisfying.
