In terms of Midwest ski areas, Nub’s Nob in Michigan is one of the largest. Fifty-three trails are spread out across three distinct peaks, with eight chairlifts servicing them. One of those chairlifts, the Green Chairlift, will be replaced next off-season. Last night, Nub’s Nob announced that a new Skytrec fixed-grip quad chairlift will replace the old lift, which opened back in 1978. The lift services all three of their peaks, along with easy, intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain.

In their video announcement, Ben Doornbos, who is the General Manager of  Nub’s Nob, explained why they chose a fixed-grip quad over a high-speed quad.
