Granite Gorge in Keene, New Hampshire has been closed since the 2019-20 season, and it seemed like the mountain was going to be closed for good.

The mountain went to auction in June and was bought by Granite Gorge Partnership, who then announced their intentions to reopen it.

They hired Keith Kreischer as General Manager back in July, who is a terrain park aficionado. For the past couple of months, the ski area has begun work on getting the mountain ready for this winter.

The work that has been done on the mountain so far includes mowing the slopes, tree line chipping/trail widening, rehabilitation of the slopes for erosion and water control purposes, and bringing in Pfister Mountain Services to repair the double chairlift.

Some of the future winter additions that have been mentioned by Granite Gorge include a beginner to medium jump line (among other terrain park offerings) and one hundred and fifty new snow tubes.

They also plan on opening mountain biking trails next year and will begin sculpting those out next spring.

It’s exciting to see all these projects taking place, and I look forward to skiing there this winter.
