175 old chairlifts from Jack Frost Big Boulder Resort in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, are set to be auctioned off beginning at 12pm ET on September 9th. The auction features both double and triple chairs from Jack Frost & Big Boulder, and the minimum bid for every chair is $200.

Auctioned chairs come from five separate lifts, all of which are being replaced by new quad lifts in an attempt to change and improve the mountain and its terrain.

They’re all quads. Some of them that we’re replacing were doubles. Some were triples. So, it’s all quads. They’re going to be new, so that’s great for the mountain. The terrain is being changed a little. Some of the starting and drop-off points are being changed as well, so it’s going to be really a different mountain when you come to visit us this year.” – Kristen O’Neil, Jack Frost Big Boulder Resort employee, according to WNEP 16.

All proceeds from the auction are set to be donated to the EpicPromise Foundation, which seeks to assist Vail Resorts employees in times of need, the Lake Harmony Fire Company, and the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad.

The auction is set to begin at 12pm ET on September 9th and will run for 24 hours, closing at 12pm ET on September 10th. Pickup for Big Boulder chairs will occur at Big Boulder on Saturday, September 11th from 11am-3pm ET and Sunday, September 25th from 11am-3pm ET. Pickup for Jack Frost chairs will occur at Jack Frost on Sunday, September 18th from 11am-3pm ET and Saturday, September 24th from 11am-3pm ET.
