“When I first found out about the donation of skis was to be like, ‘Thanks but I don’t know if we’re really prepared for that.’ I got a storage unit and was like alright they’ll bring a few skis a few snowboards down. And then they sent the manifest and the manifest had 1,000s of pieces on it. Opening that U-Haul, the look and expression on my face was like I don’t think we have enough storage.” –Ski Noir 5280 President, Quincy Shannon

There’s talking about it and then there’s being about it. Just want to tip my cap to Eldora Ski Resort in Colorado who stepped up in a major way to support diversity in winter by donating their entire rental fleet to Ski Noir 5280.

Ski Noir 5280 was founded by Quincy Shannon who wanted to break down the barriers that keep people off the slopes of Colorado due to the costs of things like gear and transportation. Shannon started small by collecting things like coats and gloves. They got 500 helmets from Aspen Ski Company but nothing compares to what Eldora contributed.

With the addition of a full U-Haul box truck of gear, Ski Noir 5280 is working up a plan for loaning out the gear including a liability waiver and finding ways to get the gear into rental spaces within the community in Aurora and Denver.  If you are interested in supporting this most worthy cause PLEASE GO HERE:
