Is Tenney Mountain about to make another comeback? New England Ski Industry reports that the New Hampshire ski area has been sold to the Northcountry Development Group for $6.125 million via a quitclaim deed. Northcountry Development Group is an affiliate of Timberline Construction, which has helped build the Puma campus, multiple hotels and apartments, academic buildings, and more.

There is a lot of potential with Tenney, with its easy accessibility from I-93, classic narrow New England ski trails, and close proximity to the ski bum campus of Plymouth State University. Its history has been tumultuous, as it’s gone through multiple owners and bankruptcies and was even run by Dan Egan at one point. Most recently, the mountain was bought in the mid-2010s by the Tenney Mountain Development Group, led by Michael Bouchard. They officially reopened the mountain in early 2018 and relied mostly on natural snow. The mountain closed in March of 2020 for the season and hasn’t reopened since due to the effects of Covid-19. No updates were given to the public, as their social media page remained silent since late 2020.

Not much is known about what their plans are for Tenney. But on Wednesday night, they updated their profile and cover photos on Facebook. Michael Bouchard released the following statement on the Tenney Mountain page:

“I know, I know, I know…. I promise I will share an “Official” update shortly on the future plans for development and the upcoming 2022/2023 ski season.
I appreciated all your positive emails and support throughout this pandemic and I am very excited to welcome back all of our TENNEY community / 10eFaithful once again. The mike@TENNEY updates will soon be posted daily and any additional constructive comments or suggestions are always welcome.
