“It’s not Colorado, but it will do, I guess.”

Back in 1991, KCCI 8 Des Moines took some time to shred the slopes of the Fun Valley Ski Area in Montezuma, Iowa. In its heyday, the mountain had ten runs, five lifts(multiple chairlifts), and a tubing park. I couldn’t find much info about the ski area’s history online, but it appears as though the mountain closed sometime in the late 2000s. The old base lodge is used as a venue for weddings and other events, and it also serves as a campground. The vintage footage from KCCI 8 is below…
