Ahhh. Riding a surface lift. It’s a lost art for most US skiers and snowboarders.
Europeans still enjoy a plethora of surface lift options, but they’ve been mostly phased out by gondolas and chairlift across North American ski resorts.
There are few things funnier than watching a novice rider struggling with a surface lift in my opinion. You might think that’s cruel, but I honestly don’t care. It’s all just harmless fun. It’s a type of physical comedy similar to watching somebody slip on ice. You just can’t help but laugh.
With that being said, I don’ think I’ve ever seen somebody flail their limbs around like an absolute madman attempting to ride a surface lift like the dude in the clip below. In fact, I’m starting to question whether this video is just a bit…?
Oh well, still fun either way! 😂
