After a slow start to their snowmaking efforts this season, along with a bumper-to-bumper traffic jam on Saturday, Mount Sunapee released a video discussing their early struggles so far this season. General Manager Peter Disch apologized to guests in the video, explaining how staff shortages in multiple departments(snowmaking, rentals, and food and beverage) have led to a subpar experience.

They are in talks with Vail Resort stakeholders and the town of Newbury on ways to improve the guest experience for the remainder of the season and beyond. A recommendation from my point of view is to stop selling day tickets during weekends and holidays, which I believe would improve the crowding issues that the medium size mountain has faced. On the bright side, they just opened up two of their most popular runs (Upper Ridge and Eggbeater), multiple other trails will be opening this weekend, and a major Nor’easter is on tap for Sunday night into Monday.
