UPDATE: After publishing this post, we got word that a day ticket at Steamboat today is selling today for $269

Arizona Snowbowl has just passed Vail Colorado for the most expensive single-day lift tickets in history at $249. Last Thursday was the first day tickets reached this price, and have now gotten there again today.

As you can see from screengrabs from Arizona Snowbowl, the ski area has fully embraced dynamic pricing and is using the model to jack up rates during the holidays.

The good news is that if you can wait till the end of the month to go skiing, a single-day lift ticket will cost you just $59.
