Colorado is one of many states across the country that is beginning to implement wildlife underpasses and overpasses to reduce the amount of vehicle collisions with animals.

CBS Denver reports that the wildlife underpass on I-25 between Denver and Colorado Springs has already proved to be working, and officials believe it could reduce vehicle collisions with wildlife by 90%.

Pretty incredible that something so simple can be so effective in protecting humans and animals! Love to see it.

Take a look at other wildlife overpass projects that we’ve covered here on Unofficial Networks in Washington and Utah.

“Bears, elk and other animals are already using the wildlife underpasses along Interstate 25 between Colorado Springs and Denver. The installation of these underpasses were in collaboration with CDOT through the I-25 South Gap project.”
