Not sure how long this specialized foil stuff has been around but it seems like it only went into widespread use in the US during the 2021 wildfire season. Most notably in Sequoia National Park where fire crews used it to wrap General Sherman as it faced down the KNP Complex. Hats off to the hardworking firefighters who gave special attention to the iconic 1000+ year old trees.  Cheers.
