Bromley Mountain in Peru, Vermont is part of Southern Vermont’s skiing mecca. Just within miles of the resort is Stratton and Magic Mountain. Bromley stands out as the family-friendly option, but still has a varied terrain offering with forty-seven runs and nine lifts.

Their main lift is the Sun Mountain Express Quad, which opened in 1997. Nearing twenty-five years of operation, the lift was in need of a replacement or a major renovation. Over the offseason, Bromley repaired its only base to summit lift, the Sun Mountain Express Quad, and completely upgraded its systems. Some of the upgrades included “new drive and control systems on both stations, Doppelmayr’s most advanced, state-of-the-art safety system, new fiber-optic communications line, new power source at the summit, 22 inch HD touch screen control computers inside both stations, [and a] new hydraulic braking unit and tensioning system.” This restoration gives the lift a “new heartbeat”, and will likely give the lifts more reliability when it comes to delays faced from wind or ice holds(a common East Coast issue).
