Part of Whitefish Mountain Resort’s plan for improvements is moving the location of Chair 8 that services the resort’s Hellroaring Basin zone. The picture above shows where the old Chair 8 was located, and where the chair will be moved to.

The chair’s new location is intended to allow Whitefish to open the terrain earlier in the season, provide better access to the terrain, and improve the distribution of skiers and riders across the mountain.

Whitefish aims to have the new Chair 8 location up and running for the coming season. They shared a quick video of a helicopter moving concrete formations yesterday to update the public on the project.

Here’s to hoping the rest of the operation goes smoothly and that Chair 8 will be ready to go for the coming season. I know lots of Whitefish locals complain that Hellroaring Basin isn’t opened as often as it should be. Hopefully this will improve the overall experience at Whitefish and work as intended!
