Sunday River’s biggest expansion since 1995 has been ongoing this summer, as a new triple will service new housing lots on Merrill Hill. A five hundred vertical foot lift will service a variety of new houses and condominiums adjacent to the Ridge Run and Second Thoughts trail. According to NewEnglandSkiIndustry.com, concrete has been poured into the site of the future base and summit terminals, and the forms are currently being constructed for the tower footings. A good portion of the new trails have been excavated and sowed, and the snowmaking pipes are currently placed in multiple places below the site to prepare for their installation. Sunday River also posted some great drone shot footage of the construction this week. Merrill Hill is expected to open during the 21-22 season.
