More trails are coming to the transformative Nordic Express expansion at Nordic Valley. The ski resort in Eden, Utah is putting flags on terrain that they plan on adding to its trail network for next season. The trails will be on the Nordic Express portion of the mountain, and some cleanup work will be done on the trails on the barn side(where the base is) of the mountain. Last season, Nordic Valley opened its first high-speed lift: The Nordic Express. The chairlift is a six-person high-speed quad that was built by Leitner Poma. Some trails were opened but are an immense amount of potential terrain has yet to be developed.

The crazy thing about this project is that this is just the beginning of Nordic Valleys’ expansion plans. In the near future, Nordic Valley is looking to add another forty trails to their mountain, including a hundred acres of developed runs and two hundred acres of gladed areas. Conceptual master plan maps show the potential for even more terrain and lifts. Another potential idea is a 4.3-mile gondola that would link the city of Ogden to the resort. These plans would likely make the resort a direct competitor with the other heavyweights in the state. It’s unclear if all of these expansion plans can be completed due to local opposition, costs, and scope of such an undertaking. Regardless, it’s time to put Nordic Valley on your bucket list.
