Ralph Dorn, 62, of Culpeper, VA observed as his 6-year-old Goldendoodle Harley jumped into a lake to save a fawn that had been separated from its mother.

Harley swam with the fawn and corraled it to shore to prevent it from drowning. Dorn and Harley left the fawn after the mother returned.

Check out the video below of Harley licking the fawn clean after getting it to shore. What a hero Harley is!

Dorn and Harley thought that would be the last they saw of their new friend, but were pleasantly surprised when they heard the fawn bleating outside the home early the next morning.

Dorn opened the door for Harley, and the two greeted each other in the woods outside of Dorn’s house. What a special moment, and what a special dog!

Harly is the goodest of good boys.
