Floodwaters caused a dam to fail in Edenville, Michigan last year, and the footage is unbelievable.
The sheer power of the water crushing through the dam wall is quite terrifying to think about.
What’s worse is that officials expressed concern that the dam wouldn’t be able to contain waters from a historic flood as far back as the 1990s.
According to mlive, the dam’s operator had repeatedly failed to comply with regulators request for multiple years to develop a plan should a situation like this occur. Nothing was done, and the dam failed catastrophically.
The governor even declared a state of emergency for the region.
