VIDEO: Irish Surfer Encounters Basking Sharks

Peaceful encounter between Irish surfer Tom Gillespie and a few members of the second-largest fish species in the world (whale shark biggest). While these 26ft+ 11,000lbs+ basking sharks may look the part of terrifying sea creature, the only thing in danger is the plankton they filtering out of the Irish sea with that megamouth.  Hard to say how many of these ancient creatures were in the vicinity at the time but they are known to travel in group of 100+. Cool Tom was able to identify these as harmless and have a calm interaction.

Answer: A group of sharks can be called a school, gam, herd, frenzy, or shiver.
